2052

During a year in which someone turned the lights out on our offense (Out of 12 teams, we were 10th in Batting Average, 11th in Hits, 9th in Extra Base Hits... though, we were 3rd in Home Runs, 1st in Stolen Bases, and 5th in Runs Scored), the only real option was a pitcher.  Our team pitching was fairly mediocre this year, but Justin McCullough pitched REALLY well.  Unfortunately, in what may have been his last start of the regular season, he injured his shoulder - taking our number 1 pitcher out for the playoffs.  We somehow managed to get by Kansas in the first round of the Playoffs, but New Mexico was just too much in the 2nd round.

As he was by far our best player this year (with apologies to Joshua Rivers who had an outstanding year in our infield this year), so he is this years Colorado Rams MVP.

In a bit of a down year for the Rams, Eric Cline get the MVP nod.  2nd on the team in average, 1st in home runs, and 2nd in RBI gets him the honor over Ron Moore and Eric Mercer who both had fairly decent years.

Catchers aren't supposed to get better as they age, right?  How on earth did a 33 year old catcher have the best year of his career?  The man in question is of course Ron Moore.  He was second in the league in Home Runs and Slugging Percentage and was just an offensive all star for this team.

We're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for this one, folks.  With a team that has lost more games just once in its existence, there wasn't much to choose from as far as who was the team MVP.  But since we have to give it to someone, we'll give it to Arthur Crawford.  Now don't get me wrong, the man had a fabulous year, but he didn't exactly have a lot of competition.  He was just a stalwart in our bullpen taking care of the middle innings.

And for the third time in 6 years, this years Colorado Rams MVP goes to our catcher, Ron Moore.  Moore keeps chugging along, putting up solid seasons.  The latest, at 36, could arguably be called the best of his career.  He won the teams triple crown with a .290 average, 24 homeruns, and 84 RBI.

In what was the 2nd worst performance by a Rams team ever (yes, there was a team that performed worse than this one, if you can believe it), there really wasn't much for the fans to cheer about.  There was no real clear choice for team MVP, as no one really played all that well.  So we're giving it to Relief Pitcher, Carlos Alonzo.  He led the team in ERA for anyone pitching over 30 innings.  He also led the team in Opponents Average.  Here's to a brighter future!

The tide is rising.

In just his second year in the league, Raul Perez wins this years Colorado Rams MVP.  He led the team in Wins, ERA, and was second on the team in strikeouts.  A former top prospect, he's leading the charge of the flood of talent that will join the team in the coming years.

Our upward rise continues.  Surprisingly, the team made the playoffs this year, and a big reason for that was for this year's team MVP, Richard Samuels.  Samuels led the team in Homeruns and RBI and was second on the team in average.  He also is getting real play for the league Tyson Bacon Award.  He won't win, but currently sits in a healthy third place in the voting.  The best part...

He's just 26 years old!

Our one year playoff run was fleeting.  Our team was just 2 games out of a playoff spot this season, but I can't see how we don't improve in the future with a lot of our young guys ready to make it to the next level.  The team MVP this year goes to one of those new kids, Larry Pearson.  Peason is a guy, even when I drafted him, that can't take a walk to save his life.  He had single digit walks!  He also only had 62 strikeouts, so either the league hasn't realized that he'll swing at anything or he really can hit anything.  Pearson led the team in Average and RBI (tied with our catcher, Albert Neal, who also had an outstanding season), and was second in homeruns (to Neal).  It'll be interesting to see if this was a one year wonder thing or if he has a lot more in store for us.

We also should give honorable mentions this year to:
SP - Raul Perez - 18 wins
C - Albert Neal - Like I said above, this guy crushed this year
SS - Terrence Perez - Another rookie.  27 homeruns
2B - Magpie Foster - Just doing his thing.  .300-21-80 and he's only 23
CF - Richard Samuels - Down year compared to last season, but still .245-25-82

Back in the playoffs.  I think we're just at the beginning of a good streak by this club.  Though, at the beginning of the year, the teams #1 prospect, SP Lee Manning went down with a career ending injury.  Great year by the club though.  We lost to California in the first round of the playoffs.

Larry Pearson is again our MVP this year.  He followed up his rookies year with an equal to that year (albiet a little different).  I can't wait to see what this guy does.

Honorable Mentions to both SP Raul Perez (17-8, 3.04 ERA) and Magpie Foster (who is the same age as Pearson, but just finished his 5th year - .322/26/95)

Another first round exit out of the playoffs.  This year we had the second best record in the league.  So things are looking up.  We just have to get our playoff engines running a little earlier next year.

Larry Pearson again wins the award for this team having a similar year to the one that he had last year.  The guy can flat out hit.  He won the team triple crown.

For the first time since 2016, the Colorado Rams made it to the Championship Series... and we were swept in 4 games by the Pennsylvania Freedom.

Larry Pearson makes it 4 years in a row as team MVP.  He was second in Average and first in both Homeruns and RBI on the team.

Pearson also hit .257 with 7 homers and 19 RBI throughout the playoffs.  Both the homers and RBI led the team.

Another season with high hopes, and they were dashed at the end with a 4-1 GEL Championship Series loss to Kansas.  Ugh.

Magpie Foster was the man this year.  Apologies to Juan Pagan and Larry Pearson, but Magpie continues his upward trajectory.  For a guy who is in his 7th season at only 26 years old, he still has a ways to climb (I hope).  Magpie was a legit MVP candidate this year, leading the NPBL in batting average and was 3rd in RBI.  Obviously he had excellent teammates to help him out, but this man deserves the praise right now.

2065

The year it finally came together.  As the little news story said, this team's motto for the season was "Win or Die Trying."  I've been waiting for that for a long time.  2016 to 2065.  49 years since the team last won a championship.  It's been almost exactly 10 real world years since I last won a championship (it was pre-start of this thread).  The date of the sim the last time the Rams won the championship was March 31st, 2006.

That was a long time in coming.

With that said, there are so many guys on this team that made huge contributions.  What about Magpie Foster and his .322/43/121 line and his 6.4 WAR?  What about Larry Pearson with his .303/34/128 line?  Or Lawrence Sanders who most likely will win the Bick Horzon Award and had a big 3-run homerun in the clinching game of the Championship Series?  Or Raul Perez who went 21-12 and 3-1 in the playoffs?  Or Tom Cannon who lit the world on fire during the playoffs pitching twice in the championship series picking up both wins and had a 1.42 ERA?

But no, the Colorado Rams MVP this year was 26 year old Andre Beauregard.  18-6.  2.92 ERA  He led the team in ERA and K's.  On top of that, he pitched 6 times in the playoffs going 4-0 (though the team lost the other two games he pitched... he only let up one run in 6 and 7 innings pitched respectively) with a 1.27 ERA.  Just to give you a taste, the last time he pitched this season in game 4 of the Championship Series, he went 7 innings, had 5 K's, gave up just 1 hit, and zero runs.  Thea team won 2-0.

So proud of this team!

After a great campaign in 2065, this team floundered a bit.  They did enough to make it to the playoffs, but then got bounced in the first round.

With that said, and with apologies to Raul Perez (17-4 with a 2.44 ERA, 2nd in the league in ERA and 3rd in Complete Games), the clear MVP of this season is Larry Pearson.

.360/.369/.611 AVG/OBP/SLG
41 Homers and 142 RBI
League MVP (I think... the game gave it to him, but not sure if we voted him in or not)
Won both the fielding and hitting award for his position

The guy was a beast.
