2043 MVP: OF Gator Gutierrez, good for 304/363/549 with 37 HR.

2044 MVP: SS Aurelio Leal and his breakout 314/356/551, 27 HR season.

Wow, I'm way behind.

2045: CF Paul Johnson (265/373/477)
2046: RF Alejandro Meléndez (306/353/487)
2047: C Chang-bum Park (314/389/506)
2048: P Doodles Colbert (3-20, 4.18) -- really unlucky with run support
2049: RF Stone Nichols (323/420/567)

In 2050, Stone Nichols repeats as team MVP, putting up a line of 295/413/544 with 34 HR, 113 RBI, and 106 runs scored.

A few other players were close on his heels, though:
* Akihiro Matsubara: 278/404/400, 116 R plus a Matthews award in CF
* Juan Garcia: 326/413/501 with 43 doubles
* Chang-bum Park: 313/398/515 while catching 134 games.

Stone Nichols continues his streak in 2051 and 2052. I like to spread around my team MVPs whenever possible but I really can't justify giving these to anybody else.

In 2053, we go with Luis Polanco. Stone Nichols was probably a little more valuable in raw numbers, but Polanco's emergence as a top-flight starting pitcher was a big bonus for us.

2054, the award goes to Dan Brandon, who carried the team offensively in a somewhat down year for Nichols.

Statistically, the 2055 award should probably go to Stone Nichols (Bacon Award winner) or Doodles Colbert (Yim Award winner). But I'm giving it to Ricardo Acevedo, who at 42 made a move from the bullpen back to the rotation -- his first starts since 2046 -- and really stabilized a rotation that was struggling with injuries mid-season.
