I don't appear to have ever named a 2029 MVP, so we'll tackle that first.

It really comes down to the top offensive contributor, Ron Guinan, vs. the top pitcher, Armando Mesta.

Guinan played a full season for a change, hitting at a .322/.436/.676 rate, with 53 home runs, 36 doubles, 133 RBIs, and 143 runs scored. He also won the Bacon Award.

Mesta, meanwhile, went 23-8 with a 2.81 ERA and 190 strikeouts. He completed 5 games, 2 of those shutouts, and won the Yim Award.

I'm going to grant the award to Mesta -- up to this point, Guinan has won 4 team MVPs against Mesta's one.

The 2030 MVP is going to go to Bill Dickie. He hit .362 with 44 home runs and a league-record 161 RBIs. Overall, I think Ron Guinan had a better season, but Dickie has two things in his favor: he carried the team in August when Guinan was hurt, and he's never won a team MVP (I like to use this award to recognize key team contributors, and spread it around as much as I reasonably can).

I've long made a habit of trying to spread my team MVP awards around, but in 2031, I have to give it to Ron Guinan for his last season in the black and gray.

Cristofor Lemas gets the nod in 2032 -- he did everything in his ability to get this team back into the playoffs. He hit for average (.345), power (53 HR), and played great D at third base (RF of 3.05).

Dominick Gibbs wins the award for 2033, putting up a fine performance with a pretty mediocre team around him: 331/382/505 with 44 doubles, 22 HR, 99 RBIs and 98 runs scored.

Well, I've got to give the award to Cristofor Lemas this year, who put up very good rate stats despite stalling out at 29 HR. Nobody else played in a particularly noteworthy fashion, I'd say.

The 2035 Virginia team MVP is awarded to SP Thomas Arnwine. Poor run support left him with a 13-16 record, but his 3.81 ERA and nearly 250 innings signal that he's arrived as a solid major-league pitcher.

Honorable mentions go to aging SP Chale Crespa, 2B Dominick Gibbs, CF Tomas Chavez (who played only a half season after a bad injury late in 2034) and CL Charles Oden.

The 2036 Virginia Team MVP is awarded to 23-year-old CF Tomás Chávez. He hit 337/411/440 on the season, including 205 hits, 38 doubles, and 31 SB. He led the team in runs scored with 108. To go with this, he played excellent defense in CF, making only 2 errors with a RF of 2.54. He had 7 outfield assists.

Honorable mentions go to P Thomas Arnwine (13-13, 3.90), IF Dominick Gibbs (344/402/471 in an injury-shortened year) and OF Lynn Becker (301/362/409 with CF-quality defense in LF).

Going with Tomás Chávez again in 2037, after his second-consecutive 200+ hit season.

Honorable mentions go to outfielder Lynn Becker and pitchers Thomas Arnwine and Daniel Thompson.

Leonardo Suarez wins his first (of many?) team MVP in 2038 -- a good individual effort in a disappointing team season.

Tomás Chávez is the 2039 team MVP -- his .476 on-base percentage at the top of the lineup and 139 runs scored made him the keystone of our offense.

Going to have to go with 1B Pedro Rico in 2040 -- the offensive anchor for us while a lot of guys missed time with 2-3 week injuries.

Ricardo Acevedo had an absolutely fantastic season in 2041 (25-2, 1.69), and I simply have to reward it.

2042 team MVP is C Andrew Jones, whose 322/396/535 and 36% RTO made him the foundation of the club.
